Justice And Freedom

Confronted with injustice

Inequality, inequity, oppression

Shall we simply turn aside?

Ignore the pain, the suffering

which does not directly touch us?

Or merely proclaim our empathy

for those who suffer?

For can there truly be freedom

where all are not free?

Where some enjoy privilege

while others know only want?

The true Patriot

Strives for the liberation of all

So that all may enjoy such liberty

Laying aside denial of essential rights

So that all have the same opportunity

To realize their full potential

And employ their talent, their effort

Unhindered

In pursuit of that life and happiness

To which all members of Humanity are entitled

And which all must share

For the world to be truly just

And truly free
