Paralyzing Power

Friends got lost on a dark night and the terror paralyzed them. Had they been prepared, the journey might have been a delight.

The moon was absent this enchanting twilight.

The atmosphere filled us with unfathomable fright.

Walking home in terror was our perilous plight.

The power of darkness overwhelmed us.

Blackness choked us until our throats were tight.

Even the stars were blocked from our eyesight.

What did we do to deserve this ghastly blight?

We were paralyzed, but getting home was a must. 

All at once, out of the obscurity, we saw a light. 

We had hope that everything would be all right.

The three of us ran toward the cabin with all our might.

Would there be folks there whom would we could trust?

We were very fortunate travelers that night. 

The newly-wed couple put aside their delight. 

Opening their home to help us gave us insight. 

Thorough preparation before you set out, a plus. 

Prevent paralysis by perplexing powers by planning.
